I use English as the primary language to learn Italian because it’s more distant from Portuguese, so I don’t get the languages mixed up/confused, and it actually works pretty well! so I get what u r saying

a lot of people think German and Dutch mean the same thing, idk why, but you’re not the first person I’ve heard saying this haha maybe it’s because “Deutsch” (German for “German”) sounds a bit like “Dutch” idk
