this is a not my favorite application of memento mori. in my personal philosophy, the point of life is to feel and to live and to love to the fullest extent, memento mori reminds us of this by putting into perspective that all is fleeting so feel every second of it and to let go and not let things fester, because every second festering is one wasted that could’ve been a fresh new feeling and experience. that’s why memento mori is usually balanced with memento vivere; to remind us not only that we must die, but that we must live every moment until.
