I've had my nesting partner (I'm polyam) come with me to my appointments, and he helps me get seen by the doctors. It sucks hard that he has to be there, but I do the same for him when he can't articulate what the doctor needs to know too.

I complained about painful periods my whole life, and my doctor always told me that there wasn’t a lot we could do. I tried various medication‘s, but after I gave birth to twins, and told her that it wasn’t significantly more painful than my periods, and that I wanted a hysterectomy, they started taking me a little bit more seriously. It’s sad that it had to come to that and then I had to go through that.

I’ve had an autism diagnosis for a very, very long time and I’ve had several psychologists disregard that diagnosis and say I have BPD instead without even testing me for it.

“you just have anxiety” oh I already knew that. GAD has been on my chart for years and it’s being treated by a team of competent medical and mental health professionals. I didn’t need to spend the rest of my deductible to reach that conclusion

To bad we couldn’t get the years back that we lost advocating and or hiding as drs never listen, even my latest referral to internal medicine was declined as the ER dr put nausea ONLY on my referral back to another specialist to get a referral 🥺 I’m a crohn’s patient but was gaslit from the trifecta for 20+ years of me as an “adult” advocating for something I have had my whole life it was missed and blamed on my crohns over and over again even having CVS and knowing it flared with my menstrual cycle drs still wouldn’t listen to me about histamine response I knew my body but drs never listened. Even just in December I finally saw a chiropractor who confirmed I do have cranial instability caused my a concussion I had at 21 which is when I started arguing for more answers and I just got them 3 years ago and I still don’t have drs that know what they are doing. 🥺 My dr is well aware of all she has missed I’m meeting with my dr this week to respectfully ask for another dr in the practice to see me as I don’t trust her anymore.
