Gaming laptop for gaming is a scam, but for future proofing (I think that's the right term) the best. If u do anything but gaming ur laptop last u longer than a traditional laptop, it won't slow down as much as normal laptop, cause it's got a good hardware. And if u want to maximise software performance, u can always go the Linux route. Plus gaming laptops r somewhat upgradable unlike traditions laptops
