We're not reading every word. We're scanning for signals, and if those signals aren't there in the top third, you're out. I've been an HR Manager for 20+ years and here's what I want to see: 1. The top third of page 1, Your name, title, summary, last job. That's it. Bury your best stuff on page 2 and I'll never see it. 2. Your job titles down the left side My eyes go straight down the left. I'm scanning titles and companies, asking one thing: does this match what I'm hiring for? Messy titles, you're out. 3. The exact words from the job ad The system checks your CV against the job description. Then I do the same with my eyes. I need the exact words back from the job ad.
