@ash_dykes: Most people try to ignore the voice in their head that tells them to quit. I do the opposite, I entertain it. I know that voice wasn't there before the expedition, and it won't be there after. It only shows up when things are at their absolute worst. I listen to it because it fires me up. It makes the challenge personal. The harder the experience gets, the more competitive I get with myself. I use those doubts, whether they’re my own or imprints of what other people have said, as the exact reason to finish. There is no better feeling than reaching the end and effectively telling those voices to shut down. Do you try to ignore your doubts, or do you use them as fuel to prove yourself right?
