I would highly recommend going to Uji I got so much matcha from all the factory shops and all the types I wanted plus a lot to see around there the temple featured on the 10 yen coin is also in Uji and the Nintendo museum

Sugamo store charges a lil higher than Kyoto. Do go there if you want a quick grab and only stays in Tokyo. Kyoto and Uji are much easier and cheaper to get your hands on large amount of supply. I’m a sucker for Marukyu and I went to their kyoto tea house cafe and got 400g of wako in one go.

a lil tip for going to uji, if you’re not going early you probably won’t get matcha from the main street stores - so head to the more ‘hidden stores’… or just get up early (doesn’t apply to ALL shops, but this was my experience - a lot of sell out)
