@thepremiumbabe: This is your sign to always do your own research and stop letting people make financial decisions for you. One of the biggest mistakes I made was opting out of my pension without fully understanding the long-term benefits. I thought I was making the best decision at the time, not knowing it could actually benefit not just me, but my kids too in the future. A lot of us were never taught financial literacy, so we move based on opinions, fear, or what others say. Please take time to understand things for yourself before making decisions that can affect your future. The rich stay rich because they understand how money works. Start learning now, even if it’s little by little. Your future self (and your children) will thank you. #moneymoves #pension #research #immigrants #womenwhoinvest

One more thing if you are 30 years old you divide 30 by 2 your monthly contribution should be 15% cos most of us came into the system later.Always divide your age by 2 and increase your pension contributions by the answer. If you’re good with investing then open a SIPP account and watch your money grow by investing in ETF’S with your pension contributions.

Knowledge is power indeed 💪 it's not a new thing this policy has in existence for years. After your 6 months of employment and you've passed your probation period your employer should have given you a form fill out and how to divide your pension and names of your beneficiaries. Everyday we learn new things but all in all you can easily opt in back. thanks for sharing Cici.

But the only way you can claim the entire benefit is if you will work and retire here, or when you are I think 65 years. If you opt anytime before these period, you will still loose your employers part of the contribution.

Yes pension is the best thing that can happen to anyone when you reach pensionable age or level. In my work, once you clock 10yrs, you are pensionable so even if you quit after that, you will be getting your pension monthly.

Thanks for sharing and educating others. Don’t beat yourself up. We learn and we grow. I always abided by one rule: never outsource your thinking to others.

If something were to happen to you, for context (death) and you no longer contribute to your pension, does your employer’s contribution to your pension stop?
