He is an 18-year-old U.S. citizen born and raised in Chicago who is battling stage 4 colon cancer; he was diagnosed in January 2026. His brother, Jovany Ramirez, has been his caretaker these last few months. They recently shared on social media that his cancer has rapidly spread throughout his body, leaving him with little time left, possibly days. Desperate to see their son one last time, González’s parents crossed the U.S.-Mexico border illegally after their humanitarian visa application was denied. Upon doing so, They were detained by immigration authorities and are currently in a detention center in Arizona.
