@julieantte: Traditional menstrual products like Tampons and Pads contain toxic material and have negative effects on your natural microbiome (McClure, 2024). Menstrual discs are made from medical grade silicone that do not cause irritation or dryness like traditional methods. They do not affect your pH levels and limit odor causing bacteria growth (Jenn, 2023). They also hold up to 12 hours without having to be emptied, and are eco friendly. You can feel reassured that your period is no longer apart of the issues caused by single use products. From personal experience, they are less likely to leak and I feel so much more free with my body after making the switch. If you're intimidated by the application, I promise you it is so much easier than a tampon! I could never get tampons right but me and my menstrual disc became besties from day one. I recommend the HeyZomi Menstrual Disc (sold at Woolies in AUS, buy it when it goes on half price, you wont regret it!!) https://www.heyzomi.com Sources: - https://www.brookings.edu/articles/period-products-health-risks-and-regulations/ - https://alcovehealth.org/blog/menstrual-cups-and-discs-7-benefits-need-to-know/
I still have pads and tampons though sometimes I'm to ill or to swollen for anything inside so sliding a tampon in is what I do or pad but with summer Iv packed up most pads left some not a lot as goal is tampons and cups and disc more
