I tend to avoid trash talk about other people, especially those who are close to me. Morally it feels wrong and goes against the values I hold. To be honest I completely don’t understand why people trash talk about their friends(?). On the few occasions that I bring up another friend in conversation, it’s to talk positively about them or some new interest they’ve introduced me to. I don’t know why I would want to speak badly of someone who I like. And also the case with people I barely know or talk to, there’s rarely any reason to bring them up unless they committed a crime or something.
