@sunnyinkyoto_32: A new knife shop opened up in Kyoto that you need to know about! 🔪🇯🇵⛩️ This is where Japanese locals would buy their knives. You actually need to be careful because there are a lot of overpriced knife shops in Japan. But here, the prices are very reasonable and there are over 230 types of knives! 🤯🔪 What makes this place even better is that they give you personalized recommendations based on your hand size and how you use your knife—so you can find the perfect one just for you. 📍 @kai_cutlerystore 貝印刃物店 京都店 just a 5 minute walk from Karasuma Oike Station in Kyoto, Japan If you come to Japan and are looking for a new knife, definitely save this video! #PR #貝印 #貝印刃物店 #kaicutlerystore #Kyototrip

The more expensive a knife becomes, the more maintenance it requires, and it needs to be professionally sharpened on a regular basis. So, like they said in the video, staying under around ¥15,000 is the most reasonable choice. Also, Damascus patterns have nowadays become more of a marketing technique used to sell knives to tourists at inflated prices, and the pattern itself doesn’t really have any practical meaning.
