It’s crazy but when I started paying my payment twice a month (splitting it equally on the 15th and the 30th) my credit score has progressively jumped over 10 points per month and has a 25 point increase when I started my micropayments.

Utilization rates are measured on open accounts only. So if they are paid off leave them open. Charge something small and pay it off each month. If the account reports closed it affects the available credit and drops your ratios.
