@casabolanos: Spoiler alert: it’s legal Technically by Colombian law, the only children who need a car seat are those 2 and under ONLY when accompanied by just the driver. So if there’s another adult, that means 2 and under can legally be carried without a car seat The caveat? Kids 10 and under must sit in the backseat One thing to remember about traveling somewhere new, their laws + customs will differ from back home. That being said, the Colombian government is proposing a new law (ley de sillas seguras) to make car seat usage obligatory When we first traveled with our kids to Colombia I couldn’t IMAGINE not having a car seat. But unless you have your own car, lugging around car seats in cabs is not feasible (you’ll try, and you’ll give up. Trust me) Want to learn more?
