This is being done incorrectly. The vinyl floor should be removed first down to plywood. Any leveling should be done, then a vapor barrier should be laid on top to keep moisture away from the new floor. Then adhesive to hold the new flooring to the vapor barrier and plywood.

great trick but it is to close to the wall. the floor will buckle when it expandes. half inch needed for movement.
