@sagecadence_: Computer chips can be confusing!! Today I’m using 2 super common microcontrollers boards to illustrate how processors can affect hardware projects 💫 #Tech #microcontrollers #womeninstem #cpu
Meanwhile I just picked a board with an ATmega328P because that was the chip we used 10 years ago in microcontroller class in school and I'm somewhat familiar with it 😅

She explained branch prediction better in 10 seconds than my professor did in a whole semester.

Stm32C051 is my current favorite! The best for low cost, fast clock, and decent ram if you’re looking to turn a project into a product.

More power means more energy consuming, wich means less battery life. So, depends on you aim "better" could be less Mhz, RAM, and unnecessary stuff on board.

Nah the hardest part are fpgas or even building an asic with a processor for projects

hi! great content! ❤️i have a question, do have any book recommendations that help us to understand the electrics or anything related to the assembly in general?

More clock cycles does not automatically mean “more work done” always. More clock cycles give the microcontroller more opportunities to do work. Whether more work actually gets done depends on several factors, imcluding the software running on the microcontroller and memory access/model.

Real engineers... Also just picking whatever is available nowadays lol. Or whatever is on the BOM of another in-house project.

it s not about cpu freq but memory access- time nowadays . but microcontrollers cant interact w environment w cashes well

What’s the difference between a microcontroller and a CPU and/or a raspberry pi? Why would I use one? Can I incorporate a microcontroller into my cyberdeck build? Why would I? What’s a good use case having one in a cyberdeck?
