It burns so bad for me for a good 10-15 minutes and takes about an hour to completely stop. My skin barrier is fine though so I guess I’ll just continue and see what happens 😅

I’d recommend that if you find that 15% is too harsh, you should be using it later in your routine and not first. I have sensitive skin and I found that layering a soothing serum + moisturizer before applying azelaic acid helps buffer and prevent irritation and dryness. It doesn’t necessarily minimize the effect of it, but rather it slows the absorbation down so that you don’t get massively irritated. With azelaic acid consistency is key, so if you find that this method gets you to use it every day without issues, then go ahead (if anyone wants to try but is scared of irritation).

Azelaic acid prescription worked wonders for me for years. Sadly now it irritates my face so much that I had to stop using it. I’m also about to be 40, I don’t know if premenopausal as well, rosacea is giving me such a hard time right now 😭 nothing works and get flares all the time just by taking showers or washing face. Your face is glowing and beautiful. Congrats on the wedding!
