Interesting side note: Admiral Chester W. Nimitz, who later commanded the U.S. Pacific Fleet, visited Pearl Harbor after the attack and pointed out that Japan didn’t hit fuel depots or repair facilities. Not hitting the fuel depots and repair facilities was either a miracle for America or one of the biggest military mistakes ever.
