1 wire goes to the condenser, the other is a kill switch wire. Do NOT ground the other wire, that's how a kill switch would shut off the engine. The magneto is grounded through the 2 bolts that hold it on. I would tape off the 2nd wire to make sure it does not touch ground right now. There are only 2 wires, so shouldn't take long to find out which way is correct.

In home wiring green is typically ground, I’d switch those around and see if you get spark

The 2 wires on the coil..I think one is a ground and other is power..so is the power the one hooked up and ground is contacted somewhere.

Change the boot on them old engines when you put a new spark plug on because it will cause double resistance because back in the day I can remember if it was the spark plug or the boot that had built in resisters but anyways they added resistance to one of them and took resistance from the other one so change the boot when you change the plug
