Im 47 and just staring to get grey. Very very cool ash coloured brown hair don’t seem to have red or orange tones and searching frantically for box dyes. Love my hair colour and hate to think I’ll end up with warmth when I dye it - here’s me thinking I’ll be able to sort with a blue / green shampoo 😂

You all need a blue additive added to the dye. why does no UK hairdresser recommend this? schwarzkoph Igora 0-22 or 0-33. tin y amount added to any brown dye. super cool, neutralised colour. Lasts about 6 months...

I use a cool toned toner (goldwell) 3/4 weeks and sometimes a coloring mask (wella espresso) This helps!

Nothing works, as an natural cool brunette growing out my natural hair, I have just set my self back with progress being inpatient, only way is growing out natural hair. Everything what involves peroxide, even gloss with as little as 1,9% will slightly lift and personally bring out orange in my hair, semi permanent dye was the worst decision. It lasted an week and after my hair was soo chestnut. And no product on uk market what is truly cool brunette, all is warm or green.

This is the main reason I’m letting my hair go grey and haven’t coloured it for 15 years. I’m naturally a cool ash brown with very little red and every colour I’ve ever tried has warmed it up to some degree. I’m embracing my grey “highlights” 😂

Thank you for your video. I never really managed to fight the orange. Tried them all. Best was bleaching and then colour it. But this ruined my coarse and curly hair.

When I had my hair coloured mid brown it would constantly lift and go warm, losing battle. I grew out my natural mousey colour and greys and I still have warmth, (which is contrary to my colour analysis result of cool summer) but it's natural warmth now and not dyed

This is so true, I also find that blue shampoo can weirdly leave my hair with a glowy dark red tone to it. ☺️
