Hey there :
I agree with everything u said mostly . I personally think eating meat is wrong even from farmers markets . However locally and markets are way MORE ethical I just still think it’s wrong . But I’m not gonna go around saying nobody should eat meat cuz that doesn’t do anything . Just eating Less is a step in the right direction and make a huge difference .

I think there are layers to this. We should eat less meat, but small businesses are so expensive these days. And they’re often less accessible to the average consumer than industrial meat. While many people with high protein diets, usually athletes, would struggle to substitute the large portions of protein with plant based options.

the problem is that being able to achieve a sustainable and balanced diet while being a vegan isn’t financially accessible for everyone. Plants are often incomplete sources of protein and people require meat which is often more easily accessible than vegan alternatives. So it can be classist to ask people to be vegan aside from being rude. I agree with your overall point of view that animals should be treated humanely and shopping locally is a good alternative and that we as humans should be consuming more plants within our diet.

Most people complaining about this take are probably just conflicted in their own morals and don‘t want to rethink them because that would make them feel bad so they look for excuses like „it‘s too expensive“ when it really isn‘t (not even mentioning the health issues frequent meat consumption pushes)

i think the reason people are so anti vegan is because deep down they feel guilty for eating meat and the effects it has and when someone is vegan it forces them to face that

You're right people just literally hate anything that has to do with veganism regardless who is saying it or what is said. Historically whenever there was any devastating event going on where ppl didn't have enough money the first things had to live without was animal products especially meats. That's why when you look at a lot of "poverty meals/recipes" they're made with minimal or no animal products, and even when there are it's like spam and hotdogs not actual cuts of meat. Let alone cheese, creams, dairy ect that shit is more expensive than crops

ppl don't want to hear it but one of the most sustainable animal based proteins are from insects. they take up so much less space and water. you also don't even have to eat them, there are pet food brands that use insects as the main source of protein

Subway Rolls (hearty Italian) storage & freezing instructions at the bottom. 💝 200ml lukewarm milk (38°C) 160ml lukewarm water 30g sugar 7g instant yeast 500g Bread or AP flour (min 12% Protien) 8g salt Cornmeal or semolina Small knob of butter (about 10g) Whisk the lukewarm milk & water with sugar and yeast. Add flour and salt and mix it well till combined. Use the spatula to fold it over itself turning the bowl in between until the dough looks softer and it’s come together (10-20 times) if you have a mixer you can use it or knead by hand for 5 min if you’re comfortable with it but it’s not necessary. Cover and rest 1 hour. Spread some butter thinly on your pans (if it’s not non stick you may want to use grease proof paper) I did 3 on each pan. Decompress the dough with a floured hand (it’s a sticky dough) and pull away the edges. Place it on a well floured surface shape into a rough rectangle and cut into 6 equalish pieces. I cut down the middle and each side into 3. Flour the surface well and your fingers. Flip a piece of dough over and press it down spreading it out lengthways. Roll it up pressing in after each roll. About half way fold in the ends and continue. For the last little piece stretch it out and bring it over. Pinch sealed including the ends and place them on a floured surface covered while you shape the others. Roll the out slightly and place in your dishes. Press down to flatten. Brush with water and sprinkle semolina or cornmeal. Preheat oven to 180C Cover and rest 20 min. After 20 min score them 4 times diagonally and bake for 16-19 min. I baked both dishes together and I rotated them half way through. If it’s getting too dark after 10 min reduce your oven to 170C These freeze incredibly well so for freezing as soon as they’re cool slice and freeze airtight in a zip lock bag. To defrost take out what you need and defrost airtight too to keep them fresh. To store at room temp keep airtight as soon loas they cool for 2-3 days Enjoy D 🫶🏼 #bread #subway #breadmaking #easybread #breadrecipe
