Rain jackets are also pointless because if you jump into a river you will still get wet. A better alternative is to bring your own hovercraft so you can easily float above the water

I don't know, in the vast majority of of my hikes, I don't step in water over my ankles. I step in puddles that go out my foot frequently. it's true they will dry but my feet will still be on and off wet constantly versus almost always dry except for if I have to ford a river.

Waterproof shoes definitely have their place in cold near or below freezing environments where getting wet is dangerous. But in warmer weather, I do prefer a quick dry that kind of goes for a lot of gear.

Correct opinions :
Water proof shoes are for slushy snow where keeping your feet dry keeps away hypothermia and frostbite. 3 season is always trail runners

I love my waterproof boots. We hiked in terrestrial rain and my feet were bone dry……until I accidentally fell into the river. But please don’t tell people they’re pointless.
