Even if she was able to be fully mobile again (which I have the same opinions about as you) I feel like it'd be strange for her to go back to being Batgirl again instead of staying Oracle. Even if someone wanted to insist that she'd want to go back to active field work it'd make more sense for it to be under a new superhero identity not just going back to Batgirl.

That’s why I like the way Gotham Knighte handles Barbara’s story. She wants back into the world of vigilantism and builds an exoskeleton for her suit that allows her to walk again but fundamentally changes the way she moves. It also makes her suit way more armored than the rest and Barbara being the party tank is an inspired take

I love Barbara so much, she is so important to me, my dad compares me to her a bit and I can see why in a lot of ways, I'm not paralyzed but I do have POTS, which means I can fain if im standing for too long[an hour for me], and I desperately need a wheelchair.. she is still so useful and just as important to the story even without physically being able to do stuff anymore, and that means a lot to me

if dc wants her to be on the field again they could do something cool like make her a robot or something she can remotely control! iirc the dc mmo does something like that - and I can imagine a bunch of super interesting ideas on how that could work

Like Cass is Batgirl in my head, and I f*$king love Steph so get her back in the comics again. The two Batgirls or Cass as BG and Steph as Spoiler. Just give us it. Barb as Oracle was always far more compelling

It's also such a regression for her character in the world. She went from someone Superman would have on speedial as Oracle to going back into the bat family box, and not even front line bat family half the time.

To your first point, Robin to Nightwing is a promotion while Batgirl to Oracle was a lateral movement. Plus she is still Oracle and does both at the same time.
