I’ve been struggling with cystic acne since I was 14. I’m 25 now. I thought my acne made me ugly and had a horrific breakdown four months ago because I was having the worst breakout and felt so unattractive. You popped onto my for you page and I thought you were SO PRETTY. You made me realize that even though I have acne I can still be pretty. I know that sounds insane, but thank you for making me realize that.

I completely understand. Even though my cystic acne has subsided for the most part my self image and that “my face is dirty feeling” has never left. People that haven’t dealt with chronic acne don’t understand how lucky they are

I think people like this person leave comments like this because they think that if it’s your fault that you have acne, if it’s the result of some behavior of yours, then they can protect themselves from it happening to them. But nobody can control everything. At some point in their life, they will have a health issue outside of their control. And I hope that people are kinder to them than they chose to be to you. ♥️Love, a fellow chronic-acne sister.

I totally resonate with this. I’ve had acne for 15 years. I’ve tired EVERYTHING. It never has truly gone away but the up keep just to manage it so I don’t feel like a disgusting troll is very time consuming and expensive.
