An elementary school custodian is in hot water after police allegedly found fentanyl and cocaine in his pockets while he was on school grounds, marking the third time a Cranston elementary school employee has been arrested for drug possession on campus during the current school year. Cranston, Rhode Island officers were called to Garden City Elementary School after a co-worker found 38-year-old Shane Gavin unconscious. After waking Gavin up, police say he "showed signs of narcotic intoxication," like slurred speech and enlarged pupils. When officers searched his pockets, it’s reported they found two baggies filled with a "white powdery substance," as well as a credit card, two straws, and money with a "white powdery substance on them." Officers say tests later confirmed that the substance was cocaine and fentanyl. This is the second time this school year a janitor from Garden City Elementary was charged with having drugs on school grounds, and the third employee drug possession arrest at a Cranston elementary school. A teaching assistant at a different Cranston elementary school, Chester W.
