@joshuathillens: Democratic Presidental Nominee Claims White People Didn’t Create Democracy 🤯 AOC just claimed that Black Americans “created democracy” in the United States and “made something from nothing.” The clip shows her delivering the line with full conviction while the video overlays powerful historical footage: the Founding Fathers in classical portraits, Washington crossing the Delaware, and NASA’s Apollo mission control in action. This moment has sparked massive debate. While Black Americans have made undeniable contributions to American culture, civil rights, innovation, and the fight for a more perfect union — including the blood, sweat, and sacrifice of countless individuals who helped shape the nation — democracy itself traces back to ancient Athens over 2,500 years ago. America’s constitutional republic was built on Enlightenment principles from thinkers like John Locke and Montesquieu, English common law, and the hard-won lessons of the Revolutionary War.
