As a fellow over producer and lactation consultant you may be having issues with the littles having tummy issues due to so much foremilk. You might try pumping a couple minutes to get less foremilk when they start to nurse and see if that helps. I had this issue sooo bad with my second child, I pumped about 40 oz every 2-3 hours. I was miserable if I didn’t. Luckily I was able to give my excess milk to my baby niece since my sister struggled to produce. Mastitis is so miserable. On top of overproducing it’s a special kind of miserable. Keep going your doing amazing. Try the pumping first thing, only need to for a couple minutes. You know pretty quick if it works to fix their tummies.

Mastitis alone would make me lose my mind honestly 😭 postpartum is already exhausting enough without your body throwing MORE chaos at you. I remember surviving on caffeine while dealing with puffiness, cravings, breakouts, low energy, all of it after birth. Nothing really helped long term. Then someone in a motherhood forum told me to read Eat Like a Woman Protocol written by Loren Green. Best thing I ever tried—29 lbs gone, flatter stomach, balanced mood, and I finally feel healthy again instead of permanently drained. Love it)

I was a massive overproducer of milk with my twins too, and one of them had tummy issues while the other would just feed nonstop.. my lactation consultant told me to pump the first letdown off before feeding cause my flow was too strong and they were filling up on fore milk but not getting much hindmilk, so they were always hungry and the fore milk was giving my bub tummy issues. As soon as I started pumping before feeding it was a game changer.

IBCLC here 👋🏻 I’m wondering if they’re having tummy issues with excessive foremilk….its higher in lactose and less fats so it can speed up the bowel and increase gas which can make fussy babies. Bottles of milk right now could blend the milk better until they’re able to transfer more volume and get more than just the foremilk.

I would rather give birth with no epidural than go through mastitis again.

I couldn’t produce milk nearly at all. I’m so incredibly jealous of over producers. So so happy your body provides so much for your babes. 🥰

You might want to switch coffees. Bustelo is really strong and too much caffeine can cause GI upset in little ones.
