@kennakuotah: I’m currently using tretinoin 0.1% + hydroquinone 4% at night, so I’m moving very slow and really paying attention to my skin barrier. If I see redness, burning, or irritation, I skip the actives and just moisturize. Use the sandwich method to prevent from the Tret drying your skin out. Its okay if your skin is wet before applying it actually helps the moisture retain better

for dryness &/or compromised skin barrier use la roche posay cicaplast b5 Gel, not the balm. the balm is too thick & might clog your pores. use it as the last step in your skincare routine. also, hydroquinone stops melanin production so if you’re using it on your whole face it’s going to lighten your entire face (not just the dark spots) & make you look pale/ashy.. plus, it takes forever to see results that way. i’m not a dr so im not telling you to do this… but i see better results when i use it as a spot treatment only. after the cicaplast i dab it on the dark spots how you did before you rubbed it in, then just leave it; i don’t rub it in. the area gets lighter & creates a halo effect but that’s okay. the dark mark lightens & turns pink then i stop using the cream. my natural skin tone returns & the halo goes away. do with that info what you will lmao also make sure you’re using sunscreen with zinc in it! ☺️
