Awww. You are too sweet! It’s understandable to be upset. You are always so caring and invested in your students. I think you mentally prepare to say goodbye to them at the end of the year, but it’s the unexpected component of an early goodbye + her moving away from your school - it’s understandable to be sad. I think it’s 💯 ok to give her her end of year and/or bday gift ahead of time - but maybe see if you can pull her aside and do it separately at the end of the day so your other students don’t feel left out. Def do a pizza and ice cream party if you can!

I had a teacher like you when I was a child and despite it being decades after I moved I still remember her as bright as day despite me not being very emotional back then. I'm sure the student will treasure you in their memory their entire life and remember you as a fantastic caring teacher! :) 🩵🩵

You can mail her a memory book of photos of her and her friends throughout the year. It’s short notice to prepare something for tomorrow, but I’m sure she’d love this in the mail. Shutterfly is amazing to create this. ❤️
