@theglobewanderers: This is the HARDEST hike to Machu Picchu 😱🏔️🥾 This is the Salkantay Trek - a 65km hike that takes you to over 15,000 feet of elevation. While it may seem intimidating, this hike is incredibly rewarding with amazing mountain views and is broken up with stops at coffee plantations, fruit farms and hot springs. We did the 5 day premium trek with @Salkantay Trekking which included their exclusive glamping domes with comfy beds and hot showers along the way (not tents for us 🙌🏻 ) We also had a private chef for our group making some amazing meals! Would you rather hike to Machu Picchu or take the train 🤔
didn't see any of these cozy domes on the inca trail 😅

why did I think Machu Piccu was a day hike? I feel like I've seen videos of people saying they start before the sun comes up and then get to the top by mid day. idk this looks like an amazing trip

Maybe a dumb question, but how did you get down? Did you hike the whole way back or take a train? If you hiked, was it a whole 5 days back?

They have domed sleeping spaces with hot showers along the trail now? I thought it was super fancy to have food ready for you and tents set up when you arrived at camp

I enjoyed the Train then got to see more of the country the 5 days instead of hiking. To each their own

I also did the salkantay and I agree, it is long days and high peaks. I’m from Colorado and have hiked 14’ers and the Andes are higher! Really cool experience, anyone wanting to do it should definitely train so you actually enjoy it!

I told my 7 year old I’d do this with him when he graduates HS, as long as he graduated with honors. Homie will remember this and cash in

Hi! We’re thinking about doing this! Ton of questions so sorry! 🥺How was the transportation from the airport? I think I saw it’s included? How long total did you spend there, Before & after? Does the tour company help you find accommodations there should you go in early or do you have some recommendations? 🥰
