@lifewithtiffanyz: Part of being in the military is learning to say goodbye, and sometimes it’s not really goodbye, it’s just so long for now. No matter how many times you do it, it never really gets easier, but I don’t think it’s supposed to. There’s something beautiful in that. It means you built something real and made truly amazing friends along the way ♥️

Nine years of active duty myself… I know exactly what you are talking about. But at the same time, those bonds seem to transcend time and distance. And if you are lucky enough to encounter that person again, it is pretty easy to pick up right where you left off. There is a connective tissue that seems to exist amongst those who serve. There is a trust. A respect. I’m forever blessed to have people in my life that I served with who are still just as close as when we were at some far off spot in the world. Young, a little bit naive, but willing to put our own life on the line for them and a trust knowing they would do the same for us.

13 yrs on the AF. I never liked the see you laters and the goodbyes were actual goodbyes wrapped in a flag. I never liked going away’s, I never wanted them. My preference was to be there one day and gone the next.
