@thecareerdecoded: 1. They research beyond the company website Top candidates know current company news, growth, challenges, leadership changes, or business direction and they naturally reference it during the interview. 2. They turn the interview into a conversation The best interviews don’t feel robotic or one-sided. Strong candidates ask thoughtful questions throughout the discussion instead of waiting until the end. 3. They show genuine interest in the person interviewing them They ask about the interviewer’s background, leadership style, or experience at the company. People hire people they connect with. 4. They can clearly communicate their story Strong candidates can confidently explain: their career progression key achievements business impact challenges they solved without rambling or making the interviewer work for the answers. 5. They speak in results not responsibilities Instead of listing duties, they explain outcomes: revenue growth, efficiencies, leadership impact, process improvement, team success, etc. 6. They ask deeper strategic questions Not just: “What’s the culture like?” Instead: “What does success look like in the first 90 days?” “What gaps is this role meant to solve?” “What made the last person successful or unsuccessful?” 7. They know their market value They’ve researched compensation, understand the market, and can confidently explain their expectations without sounding defensive or uncertain. 8. They position themselves as in demand Top candidates don’t play games, but they communicate confidence and momentum in their search process. 9. They understand professional presence matters The way they communicate, carry themselves, dress, and engage matches the level of the role they’re pursuing. 10. They close the interview with authority Before leaving, they ask: “Is there anything about my background that gives you hesitation moving me forward?” “What are the next steps in the interview process?” This gives them a clear picture of what to expect moving forward in the process instead of leaving the interview guessing. Then they leave with a clear follow-up plan: “Thank you again for your time today. Based on our conversation, I’ll plan to follow up with you by Thursday if I haven’t heard anything further.” Then they follow up within the agreed-upon timeframe with a thoughtful, specific message. Do these 10 things consistently, and you’ll dramatically increase your chances of moving forward in the interview process. #career #careeradvice #interview #job #interviewtips

Interviews are somehow pointless, you miss out potential great workers in search of a great speaker. some people are not good at interviews but excellent at getting the job done some people are just great speakers.

some people are just good at articulating themselves whiles others are good at getting the job done. but interviewers would not know because they know everyone can do the work.

The best interviewees aren’t always the best hires at all. As a former corporate recruiter I learned that some individuals that won’t make the best employees are superb ‘performance artists’ in the interview process and fall flat in the actual job. Conversely, some that don’t interview well make excellent employees. So many skill sets and behaviors that factor in to what makes a successful employee that don’t factor in to the interview process. Flip that coin my friend!

I feel like this message should be for interviewers. They set the tone for the interview and a lot of time their demeanor throws us off.

My interview conversion rate is pretty high. But I'm very poised, show up looking good, and I speak very well. I'm highly introverted and deal with social anxiety, but when it's time to show up and show out, I'm bringing the razzle dazzle.

Candidates got hired in interviews just because “U” liked their approach. Every interviewer has their own taste… one method doesn't work for everyone. The world is full of interviewers who aren't experts and just hire based on whether they like someone or not. Your rule as an interviewer is: “have no expertise, but talk in a way that makes me like u.” Boom! Start working tomorrow!

these habits look simple on paper. the problem is most people only discover they can not do them naturally until they are already in the room. researching deeply, asking questions mid-conversation, showing genuine curiosity — all of it requires reps before it feels real, check our profile.
