@dr.amybkillen: Got perimenopause? 😩 In perimenopause it's common to see low progesterone because you're not ovulating every month. No ovulation means no corpus luteum. And that means not enough progesterone. ❎ Symptoms of low progesterone include severe PMS symptoms, heavy/painful periods, insomnia, anxiety, menstrual migraines. Have you noticed low P symptoms? Which ones? ⁉️
Once I learned this, it made complete sense why late in perimenopause the week before my period was due my moods would come absolutely crashing down. I suspect my body was ovulating, but my eggs weren’t really as vibrant and robust as they were in the past and I probably wasn’t getting that big buildup of progesterone anymore.
