I’ve travelled to Maui for years on business and was always shocked how expensive the groceries were. I find this impossible to believe. I go to Bellingham weekly as I have grandkids there. The grocery prices in Bellingham are ridiculous! Costco is similar to Canadian prices but in most grocery stores everything has really gone up!

Actually thank the Harper Conservative government from 2006- 2015, they overhauled the competition act in 2009 which involved relaxing or limiting rules around anti-competitive practices. The reason why your steak is so much is 3 of the top 5 grocery Giants in 2024- Loblas earned a profit of 2.1 billion Metro was $900 million and sobies was 720 million. So Cdns can thank the conservative party for allowing these 5 companies ban together and dictate grocery prices for large profits. In Hawaii milk is $7-9 gallon, thats $12.50 Cdn. So you're saying milk Alberta is above $12.50?
