I agree with everything you're saying (except the first... You're great at your job! ❤️). When used to something, changes are noticeable, to say the least (millennial here) and it must certainly be strange and/or tedious for much musicians working directly on promotion and social media. But I don't think that makes you a sellout at all; in fact, it could be seen as a more "personal" approach to audiences (I always look for the positive side...). And personally, I love your tiktoks.
Nonetheless, the specific problems of this place are noticeable and I appreciate you mentioning. The quick hook to grab attention, as having your efforts subject to "chance" (which is anything but random) would drive anyone crazy. You can use it your way, or even subversively, but it will probably penalize you. It's certainly annoying, sad and a long-standing ethic debate.
Anyway, don't worry too much about appearances and do things your way, whatever you decide; being someone else is not an option, especially if you have your own vision and a solid work behind them. I'm left with your idea that the world needs more magic, solace, and divine intervention through art. I still think the message prevails.
