As a nurse, a single mom, and someone working long extra hours just to make ends meet, life felt like repeat mode—wake up, work, bills, responsibilities… then do it all over again. It wasn’t just physical tiredness. It was mental exhaustion. The pressure. The constant worrying. The feeling of working so hard but still wondering, “Is this enough for the future?” Then the pandemic happened. That was my wake-up call. I love being a nurse, and I’m proud of it—but deep inside, I knew I couldn’t do this forever. I wanted more than just surviving shift by shift. I wanted options. I wanted retirement security. I wanted something I could pass on to my children. I wanted time freedom. One big reminder of that was my recent trip back to the Philippines after 20 years… Seeing my mom, dad, my brother, and his family again was emotional and unforgettable. It made me realize—I want more moments like this. More family time. More freedom to travel. More memories without asking permission from a boss. No alarm clocks. No guilt for taking time off. That’s one of the reasons I started building my online business part-time. Not because it was easy. But because staying stuck was harder. Day 0 wasn’t glamorous. It was messy. It was full of doubts.
