There was a time I truly didn’t know if I would make it through. Today, I can finally say my PET scans and MRI show NED — no evidence of disease. 🙏🏽🤍✨ 🗣️STAGE 3 CANCER🎗 no longer has a hold on my body, and for that, I will forever thank God and the incredible medical team he placed in Tahj & I life to help carry me here. 🩺🫶🏽 This was the hardest journey I have ever walked through. While I was fighting for my life, I was also fighting for my son, fighting to hold on to relationships and friendships, and family , & fighting to convince myself that I was still the same woman despite everything cancer had taken away from me. But the truth is, im not the same woman. Mentally , physically, emotionally and spiritually I’m one w/ God now🙏🏾 For 2 years I was grieving my body, my sense of normalcy, the life I had before cancer, and parts of myself I no longer recognized. Somehow, I kept pulling myself through the physical pain of cancer while learning how to survive mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. That grief had me holding on to things , people, and places I knew no longer served me but in my mind it didn’t matter. I was dying , so everything was worth fighting for. The naive, the begging, the automatic sense of feeling like everything was my fault, the vulnerability, and fear of losing whatever reminded me of the old Aub was worthy back then. I thank god for the discernment he placed in me today . Cancer changes the way you see everything. Time feels different. Every second, every breath, every hug, every ordinary moment becomes sacred. ⏳🤍 Fighting this battle as a MOTHER meant giving up was never an option. My son needed me here, so I fought with everything I had. 👩🏽‍👦🫶🏾 I honestly didn’t now I had that kind of strength in me until life gave me no other choice but to find it. 💪🏾🎗️ I’ve been through 14 years of military training and deployments, but nothing prepared me for a cancer fight. ⚓️ This battle forced me to shut down emotionally at times and survive with God and God alone🙏🏾. There were many moments I asked God, “Why me?” But standing on the other side of it now, I understand: He chose me because He knew I could carry it. 🙏🏾✨ To my village — Aunty Dawn, Cuz Acacia, DJ, Muka, Muni, Tron, & Turner — thank you will never be enough. 🤍 Thank you for loving me when I forgot how to love myself. Thank you for holding me up when I didn’t have the strength to stand on my own, and for carrying me forward when I had nothing left to give. 🫂 For two years, your prayers, love, encouragement, meals, messages, hugs, and presence carried me in ways you may never fully understand. 🙏🏾🥹 I survived because God worked through every single one of you. 🤍 Cancer softened me, but it also made me stronger. It made me more grateful, more intentional, more fearless, and more protective of the current 2nd chance at life that I’ve been given. 🌸 It taught me that life is far too short to live halfway. I don’t know exactly what this next chapter holds, but for the first time in a long time, I’m excited to find out. ✨ I’m healing. I’m recovering. I’m evolving, & I’m becoming acquainted with myself again. I’m walking boldly in the path God has set before me. 🤍🙏🏾 God carried me through Stage 3 cancer. I am still here. I am NED. And that alone is a testimony. 🎗️🙏🏾🤍✨#fcancer #cancerfree #remission #breastcancer #cancertok
