this is how I feel when authors try to market their books saying "I couldn't find a book that has xyz tropes so I wrote one" especially if the tropes are everywhere like I understand that it's a marketing gimmick but to me it screams that you haven't read broadly enough in your genre, which is a red flag

ngl I thought when I wrote my book that I wouldnt have any author buddies who wrote the same genre as me either nope theres a whole genre for us anime inspired superhero novels actually its really nice to not be alone :) its so cool checking the recs under the books you wrote and finding new books to read eee

yes! exactly! and like if you really dont want to go looking for it writing your own book is an alternative, it may not be the best at first but once you sharpen your skills it'll be the book you desire
