the most effective 2.4G antenna is 12.5cm and 5g is 6cm for half wavelength.(unless using directional antennae or beam forming) You risk burning out your card doing this. You've essentially created a monopole antenna with a massive impedance mismatch.

FUN FACT the ground is literally ground, its a long bar driven into the ground somewhere and that is 0 potential, the radio signal generated by the router will be absorbed in to the ground before any part of the wiring can meaningfully broadcast it

As an engineer I’m just gonna assume you don’t have a ground ran to those outlets. Otherwise this would not work. Or if it worked and that is truly ground you must blow a lot of fuses.
