@organimama: This was my home birth just over 2 years ago - and I’m due with baby 3 any day now 🙌🏼 Ask your provider if they will support a 2-step delivery! In most scenarios, this is normal, safe, and ideal!! Can help prevent tearing, reduce the risk of shoulder dystocia, and give baby the opportunity to rotate on their own before the shoulders and body come out. (And of course, some babies may just come right out in one contraction without you even trying to push them 😂). There’s usually no need for your provider to put hands on baby’s head, pull on baby, or coach you to push with all your might if you’re in between contractions!

I never understood why my mom cried every single time someone was giving birth in movies or on tv. Then I gave birth. And now I do too 🥹 it’s the happiest sweetest absolute best feeling

Ugh this is what I want :( I was so rushed to deliver. And I couldn’t get in the tub because my dr didn’t want to deliver my baby in the water.. definitely need to get a midwife next baby

But does this mean the babies head is just underwater the whole time you’re waiting for that second push?

Idk how you did that. 3 kids and once I felt that ring of fire I PUSHED until that entire baby was out. 😂
