I care too much, I care about my own feelings, but that doesn’t compare to how much I care for yours. I loved you in a way that prioritized you, protected you, worries for you, and above all else considered you. I wanted to love you in a way that the kid in you wanted to be loved, but i guess you wanted to be loved in a way that you are used to.

I've always been a good person, the type who cares too much, gives too much, and stays a little longer than I should. I thought if I love people genuinely, if I showed up for them, if I gave my best, they would do the same for me, but reality taught me something different, not everyone appreciates good heart, not everyone values your presence, some people only realize your worth when you're gone, and some never do at all, it's disappointing, honestly, because I never asked for much, just respect, honesty, and a little appreciation, but I guess that was already too much for the wrong person
