@var.aunevik: My brother, who has Down syndrome, is probably the most important person in my life. But he’s also weird, and that hasn’t always been easy, or cool. Weird makes people uncomfortable because it doesn’t match the script; it sits so far outside the norm that you suddenly have no pre-made reaction. You have to pause and rethink, and that is why weird is good, and so incredibly important.
