The problem is probably money and the lack of manga sales. The plot went to the point where Ron was going to destroy the Moriarty family, but in the end we got a 50-page ending with very chaotic events and a three-month time skip, and then a whole year. Speaking of Ron's character. No, he never was nonchalant, in fact we saw him being in distress so many times, even in the end. But then again, the need to make the ending shorter forced AA to use very strange plot moves.
