as an avid reader of Anne Rice's books, I do absolutely agree with her. the movie was absolute trash in its faithfulness to the source material. that being said, I absolutely love the movie. the Queen of the Damned it is a fantastic movie by itself, but I can never forget that they tried to take both the vampire lestat and the queen of the Damned shove both books into one movie and chopped it all to hell.

On its own, I think it’s iconic. The soundtrack was perfection. I’m an Anne fan from the wayback machine, and I had to disassociate this movie from her writing. But I still love it.

As a long time Anne Rice fan, she's right, it was grearly disappointing if you look at it as based on her novels. However, its still one of my most favorite early 2000s Vampire movie. The soundtrack, the costumes, the make up, etc. I just have to look past the fact they used the character names 😂
