@itskaylajaiden: This is also why groceries are so expensive. Corporations protect profit margins by protecting scarcity. If food became too accessible, prices would HAVE to come down.
Kroger, on a daily basis, will throw away 10-20 rotisserie chickens, ribs, and fried chickens. By law none of it can be donated or even taken home by employees. It must be discarded.

At my Aldi they donate soooo much food to local food pantries and churches. Only things that we throw away are moldy food or out of temp food like could get you sick. Literally everything else gets donated.

Girl… Let me blow your mind… Every retailer does this and I mean, retailers that sell shoes will cut the shoes into pieces and throw them in the trash before they donate them… Clothes, bras, underwear, handbags… Every item you can buy at a store gets damaged out just like that

So what I’m hearing is there needs to be food waste reform to allow these companies to have the same if not better incentive to donate the food instead of wasting

Used to dumpster dive with a friend and we were always blown away by the amount of perfectly edible food that gets tossed out.

It sounds a lot like health care. We can get it cheaper but its more profitable to limit it and charge more for it.

So they’re making life hard on purpose. We could all be so happy living for free. But we were forced to be born to pay for everything. Even things that grow on plants. 🌱

Too Good To Go. I think it's limited to restaurants, but many restaurants (small businesses, mostly) will partner with the app to sell unsold food in a surprise bag. You pick your restaurant and reserve a bag. You pick it up within 60-to-90 minutes before they close.

So they use dynamic pricing to raise praises during high demand times, but NOT to help reduce waste and just simply feed people. ✨capitalism✨

I got let go from a grocery store because on my break I'd pretend not to see the local homeless man go through our trash and i may have told him the best times when they throw away the freshest food because honestly im a few paychecks away from being homeless myself and homeless people deserve kindness and to be treated like a person
