Yall, he is there at the start so people don’t run too fast and burnout, hence pacemaker. They usually dont have the stamina to finish the race. He finished the race at a consistent pace that the average runner couldn’t keep up. Is not rigged he just made the decision to continue once he realized he could win more money than just dropping out

The organizers of the marathon have stated that since pace setters enter the race they are entitled to finish it the same as any other contestant. They have a private agreement to run at a certain pace in a certain place but after that they are free agents.

I feel like after reading some of these comments.Most people don't know what to pacemaker does. their job is to set the pace. But is usually a very fast burst of energy. most pacemakers can't keep up that pace for the entire race.Hence, why they only run for a short distance, and then they drop out. this guy is the exception, he was not only was able to keep the pace, he was able to finish race. pacemakers have the obvious choice of participating.If they want to, but they give up their pacemaker money.
