@maddy_be_doingstuff: I stopped following traditional garden rules and my garden flourished! ⭐️ I don’t use wooden or metal raised beds but I use $9 storage containers from @The Home Depot. They work perfectly for me because I’m a rad baddie on a budget! ⭐️I don’t follow spacing rules. Because space is limited in my garden, I don’t want to waste a single bit of it. I haven’t encountered any big issues but if I do notice a plant is struggling, I’ll move it to a container with more space. Simple fix! ⭐️I don’t use pesticides. When I started gardening, I did use pesticides and I didn’t noticed much improvement. It also deterred beneficial insects from visiting my garden. So I stopped, and I let nature do its thing! My garden always has a way of taking care of things naturally if problems arise. ⭐️ I don’t “take care” of big critters or pests. I personally have had many squirrels visit my garden. While it is annoying, I don’t want to harm them. So I purchased shiny pin wheels from Amazon (thanks to my friend @outdoor_kat | zone 6b for the amazing idea) and fake snakes. I haven’t had a visit since! The fun thing about gardening is all the experimenting you can do! So follow the rules or break them, I won’t tell on you!! What rules do you break in your garden?
