Good opportunity to teach the difference between “wrong” and “different” while clarifying the learning goal of calendar. So as long as the same info is covered we are not doing it wrong, just differently.

I always say “I know (teachers name) does it a certain way but we all do things a little differently and that’s okay. But I will try my best to do things as close to (teachers name) as I can.” Or I say “teachers name left me very detailed instructions so I will follow what she/he said but I may put a Mrs Payne twist on it”.
