@lee_theocdtherapist: If you love someone with OCD, please understand this: They are not weak. They are not “crazy.” And they are not choosing this. OCD attacks the things people care about most, then traps them in fear, doubt, guilt, and endless “what ifs.” Sometimes they don’t need reassurance. Sometimes they need someone to remind them who they really are underneath the fear. Not by feeding the OCD. But by helping light the fire inside the part of them that forgot how strong they are. Recovery is possible. And ERP works when taken seriously. I offer everyone a free 30-minute consultation. We’ll learn your story, explain exactly how OCD works, and show you how we begin breaking the cycle using ERP, the most effective treatment for OCD. If you’d like to work with me moving forward, amazing. If not, you’ll still leave with helpful guidance and clarity. Yes!! My 13 yr old son has it. The biggest thing I found to help was delaying the compulsion and eventually they became less and less. When he sought reassurance in the past, I would say “let’s talk about it at bedtime tonight” and then he’d completely forget to bring it up later. It was a way to let him know I’m there for him, but also gently letting him sit with the anxiety and find out he can handle it.

As the mother of a child with OCD and in our third week of ERP therapy-I knew it would be difficult to navigate for my child. I had no idea how difficult it was going to be for me. I’m constantly second guessing my responses. “Did I just give reassurance to her, or the OCD?” “Was that the right thing to say?” “Was that the wrong action to take?” Thank you for your videos.❤️

“You don’t have to feel certain to move on.” Might be the most healing thing I have heard in a while. I have an extreme anxiety about flying and I’m going on a plane tomorrow and I can’t stop freaking out. I keep trying to prove to myself that I will be fine. But you saying, you don’t have to feel certain in order to move on” just blew my mind. I’m still spiraling but I am going to keep saying that to myself.

That does not work. I have ruminating OCD and I can assure this doesn't make any sense.
