Everyone asks how I lost 215 lbs. Nobody asks what I gained. So let me tell you, because what I gained has nothing to do with the number on the scale, and everything to do with the life I’m actually living now! I gained freedom of choice. My bigger body used to make decisions for me. It decided I couldn’t skydive, couldn’t zipline, couldn’t ride a horse, couldn’t fit in one airplane seat, couldn’t fit in a booth and more. My body chose for me, every single time. Now I get to choose. I gained a fuller life. Not just because I gave more energy, but because I have more access. More opportunities, more yes’s and more showing up. I gained confidence and I’ve learned my confidence doesn’t come from looking differently, but from living differently. I gained community. More friends, more time with people I love, more presence as an aunt, daughter, a sister, a friend. I didn’t have the health or endurance to take part in activities and actually be involved in people’s lives and living life together. Now I do. I gained the ability to dream again and actually believe that what I dream is possible. I gained strength, resilience, and the knowing. The knowing that I am so much more capable than I ever gave myself credit for. I followed through. And now I know what I’m made of. I gained pride, not because my body is smaller, but because I did what I said I was going to do even when it was hard and even when I didn’t want to. I gained my health. I gained a bigger life. And that’s always been the point for me. And everything I’ve gained far outweighs everything I’ve lost. 💜 #naturalweightloss #weightlosstransformation #weightlossprogress
